The East Bank Theatre and Shreveport Little Theatre will hold auditions for "Steel Magnolias," by Robert Harling and directed by Richard Folmer. Call backs will be March 6, if needed. Needed are six women, ages 18-60. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Anyone wishing to work backstage should attend. 7 pm: Gator Highline Spring Show @ Captain Shreve High School

Captain Shreve High School's Dance Line presents its annual Spring Show, "Shimmering Nights." The show features dances by the award winning Gator Highline, performances by the Caddo Middle Magnet Dance Line, solos from the musical "South Pacific," and dances by graduates of the Little Girl's Camp from area elementary schools. 2 pm: So You Want to be a Star with Peter Sklar @ Power & Grace School of Performing Arts (Bossier City)

Renowned New York Talent Scout Peter Sklar knows a thing or two about helping aspiring child stars achieve success. His list of protégés includes Sara Jessica Parker, Reese Witherspoon, and Mischa Barton, to name a few, along with many current and former Broadway, TV, and film actors, singers and dancers. In "So You Want To Be a Star…" a free lecture for aspiring dancers, singers and actors, and their parents on Saturday, Sklar will explain how his views are in synch with the needs of top New York and Hollywood agents and casting directors. 1 pm: Science Fair Open House @ Shreveport Water Works Museum

An open house honoring all the Science & Engineering Fair participants will be held at the Shreveport Water Works Museum on Sunday, March 8 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The award will be presented at a ceremony at the Museum at 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend the ceremony and view the projects created by the award winners.







MONDAY, MARCH 9th



6 pm: 'How to Open a Child Care Center' Workshop @ NSU College of Nursing

Receive information from the Bureau of Licensing, City Zoning, State Fire Marshall, Health Department, and the LSU Small Business Development Center.
