9 am: Income Tax Preparation & E-filing @ Queensborough Neighborhood Assoc.

The Queensborough Neighborhood Association will prepare and electronically file your 2008 federal and state income taxes. Bring in your W-2, identification, and social security card for you and all dependents. Saturdays are by appointment only. Filing will be available each weekday from 9 am to 4:30 pm. 4:30 pm -- Grief Share @ Summer Grove Baptist Church

Seminar and support group for those grieving the death of someone close to them. Participants will learn valuable information about recovering from your grief and renewing your hope for the future. This event is free.







THURSDAY, MARCH 12th



10 am: ''Stars Over Shreveport-Bossier'' Shreveport Medical Society Alliance Style Show @ Sam’s Town

"Stars Over Shreveport-Bossier" is the Shreveport Medical Alliance's 44th Annual Spring Style Show and Luncheon. Doors open at 10:00 am for a Shoppers Galaxy Bid or Buy. There will be a raffle, with the Grand Prize sponsored by Lee Michael's Fine Jewelry.The Luncheon and Style Show will begin at 11:30. The show will highlight local community leaders and sports legends. Liz Swain will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Fashions will be provided by local stores such as Knox Goodman's Boutique, John Picken's, Pope's, and Chez Rivage. Tickets are $35. 7 pm: Women's Self Defense Class @ Lotus Studio


In this monthly class, participants will learn how to identify, avoid, and if necessary escape potentially dangerous or life threatening situations by using simple and basic self defense techniques. 8 pm: Julius Caesar @ Bossier Arts Council

This classic Shakespearian tragedy highlights the classic the attributes of greed, envy and betrayal. Those wishing to destroy Caesar feel they must act before he can be crowned emperor of Rome. Thus they cunningly plot his assassination. Directed by Shakespeare specialist Heather Peak Hooper. This show runs Friday March 13th through Sunday, March 15th, then again the next weekend.
