BPCC and the Cavalier Players will hold auditions for the Spring Festival of One-Act Plays. Roles available are for males and females, ages 18 and older. 11 am: 2009 African American History Parade Celebration in Downtown Shreveport

The 21st annual African American Parade Celebration will be held on February 7, 2009. Line-up is at 8:30 a.m. Parade starts at 11 a.m.. The grandstand will be in front of the Court House on Texas Street. This year's theme is "The Quest of Black Citizenship in the Americas". The parade will be covered live on KPXJ-CW21. 12:30 pm - Performance Love Poetry Workshops @ Multicultural Center of the South

Professional storyteller and spoken work artist Joanna Ballard will conduct the workshops. Workshops will cover stage presence, body language, and projection along with other aspects of public live performance. There will be another workshop on Feb. 14th, which will be followed by a Performance Love Poetry Showcase at 1:30 p.m. All attending should come prepared with a love poem, no longer than five minutes and appropriate for all ages.
