The Queensborough Neighborhood Association will prepare and electronically file your 2008 federal and state income taxes. Provides confidential business counseling sessions with S.C.O.R.E. volunteer counselors. Make appointments prior to the each meeting session. 5 pm: Black History Month for TNT Express @ Shreveport Regional Arts Council

This monthly Thursday Night Trolley Express will showcase Shreveport places of culture, history, and heritage as part of African American History Month. This free public event begins at artspace at 710 Texas Street. Guests will have narrated tours with stops of interest that will include Antioch Baptist Church, The Multicultural Center of the South, SUMAS, Millennium Mural. Sci-Port will celebrate Black History Month by honoring the scientific achievements of African Americans. 6 pm: 'The Three Little Pigs' @ BPCC

The BPCC and the Cavalier Players presents the 17th annual children's show, "The Three Little Pigs." Tickets are $5. This show also runs Saturday at 12 pm, Sunday at 2 pm as well as Friday Feb. 27th at 6 pm and Saturday, Feb. 28th at 2 pm.




7 pm: Krewe of Highland Bal Masque @ Randle T. Moore Center

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 21st

7 am: Muscular Dystrophy Association Stride & Ride @ Pierre Bossier Mall

The one-mile victory lap will take place inside the mall, there will also be music, face painting, breakfast snacks and a magician. Prizes will be awarded to the team that raises the most money. Any school organizations wishing to participate can compete for the Sonic Challenge and chance to win up to $1,000. Sonic will be awarding two $500 grants. Each team is encouraged to raise $85. 8:30 am - 2009 Pruning and Planting Party @ Gardens of the American Rose Center


Enhanceing the beauty of the gardens by pruning roses and planting 600 rosebushes. Bring pruners, gloves and trowels. There will be a brief "how-to" pruning and planting seminar with Consulting Rosarian Baxter Williams and American Rose Center Horticulturist Ray McKibben. A complimentary lunch will be served. 12 pm: 14th Annual Black History Parade @ Vivian Elementary-Middle School

Parade line up at 10 a.m., following the parade there will be food booths, arts and crafts, live entertainment, and other activities at the Gazebo located on West Louisiana Street in Vivian. The school is located at 100 W. Kentucky Ave. in Vivian.




4:30 pm - Krewe of Gemini Parade in Downtown Shreveport

The parade starts on Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway at Lake Street adn travel to Shreveport-Barksdale Highway to East Kings Highway and finish at Preston Avenue. This event is free but streets close before the parade so get there early! Call (318) 469-1568 for more information.




5 pm: Basic Photography Class @ East Bank Theatre

2 pm: Krewe of Highland Parade @ Byrd High School
